Building the first environmental trail system in Russia
The Great Baikal Trail
This is one of the first videos about the organization and the project Great Baikal Trail. Our projects are held on the shores of the unique lake Baikal, the deepest and the oldest lake on the planet. The world experience shows that the only way to preserve the extraordinary nature of the lake is to develop ecotourism. That’s why in 2003 we started creating the system of ecological trails.
On May 1 - 5 eight members of GBT team ascended Munku-Sagan-Sardyk - the highest top of Eastern Sayan (its height is a 11 453,41 feet!). In Buryat Munku-Sagan-Sardyk means For Ever White Mountain.
In April GBT bought the equipment and materials for educational activities with the support of our sponsor - En+ Group.
Now our organization has a lot of useful equipment that we dreamed about for a long time.
