We are now recruiting volunteers for our summer trailbuilding projects! You can take a look at the map, which contains links to our project descriptions.

Be sure to read the general conditions needed to participate in our projects!

The list of summer campsites will be updated soon. Stay tuned for updates on our site!

This last Saturday the new Visitor Center at the Baikal’ski Nature Reserve was opened with great fanfare in the town of Tankhoi. Some 10 long-term volunteers from the GBT helped put together a number of events, including outdoor games for kids, putting together and flying kites, and helping cook in a makeshift kitchen in the new souvenir shop at the reserve.

For two full days, on the 30th and 31st of May, the GBT held its annual springtime seminars here at the foot of the famous Knightly Climbing Rocks, located in the heart of the Olkhin Plateau. As always our goal was to get in a lot of trail-building practice before the summer season starts, and to help our new team leaders and cultural interpreters get ready for our projects this year.

On May 17th -20th, 2015 Great Baikal Trail was represented at International Trails Symposium in Portland, Oregon. The title of the symposium is “Solutions for Success”.
