“Great Baikal Trail” participated in the 20th anniversary of the international tourism exhibition “BaikalTour,” which took place between the 29th and 31st of March at the Sibexpocenter in Irkutsk.
The event, which marked the start of the summer tourism season, saw the participation of Baikal reserves and national parks, tourism and wellness organizations from Korea, Mongolia, China, Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk, Altai, Yakutia and Primorsky, Saint Petersburg, Crimea.
GBT volunteers talked with visitors at the exhibition about Great Baikal Trail, letting them know that it is an actual organization, not just a trail from Lystvianka to Bolshie Koty, and that GBT has many more trails to offer as well. They also informed visitors that GBT plans to conduct five volunteer projects around Baikal this summer. Additionally, GBT representative Roman Mikhailov spoke at the round table on the “Precious Necklace of Baikal or Ecology in Tourism” giving a presentation on ecotourism development.
GBT’s exposition generated a lively response and interest from visitors.
