The Benefits of the GBT Membership

By donating, you become not just a member of the GBT Association, but a part of our big international family of enthusiasts who help us protect, conserve, and preserve for future generations the beauty of Lake Baikal.  Your financial support will also allow us to promote local cultural traditions and develop environmentally sensitive local businesses.  Last but not least, you will have tangible reminders of your important involvement with the GBT!

Great Baikal Trail Friend Members receive:

  • A subscription to the GBT newsletter “Vestnik,” keeping you up-to-date on GBT events and the progress made possible with your financial support

  • A Great Baikal Trail Association decal

  • Your name or business listed* in the annual contributions report in “Vestnik”

  • The knowledge that your membership helps to protect and preserve Lake Baikal’s natural and cultural treasures for future generations

* If you prefer to make an anonymous donation, please let us know and we will honor your request.

Great Baikal Trail Supporter Members receive:

  • All of the above benefits, plus

  • Recognition in the GBT newsletter “Vestnik”

  • Your very own short-sleeve T-shirt with the beautiful GBT logo!

  • Business Memberships will receive a Certificate

Great Baikal Trail Benefactor Members receive:

  • All of the above benefits

  • This is a special donation.  Your tax-deductible contribution allows you to adopt an entire kilometer of the Great Baikal Trail in one of the national parks located on the pristine shores of Lake Baikal.  The GBT staff and volunteers will hand-carve a trail marker that will permanently display “Adopted by _”, with the name of the individual, family, or business Benefactor.  You can also dedicate your kilometer to someone you love, and we will inscribe “In honor of,” “In memory of” or your preferred words of dedication on the marker.

You will receive a 16”×20” framed photograph of your trail marker and a personalized brochure with a map showing the location of your adopted kilometer and photographs of beautiful vistas along the adopted trail (you might also enjoy a picture of the GBT craftsmen who carved your trail marker!).  Your name and the adopted kilometer will be recognized on the GBT website and in our newsletter “Vestnik.”
